How Important are Annual Gifts of the Heart?
Annual Gifts of the Heart are what many synagogues would call “dues.” They are regular contributions from our members that we count on to keep our community thriving. Unlike a traditional dues model, the levels are self-selected and voluntary. Annual Gifts of the Heart financial income constitutes roughly 60% of our total operating budget each year. In other words - they are REALLY important.
Are the levels the same as last year?
You may notice that these levels have gone up significantly since last year. This is because even though our membership numbers have increased substantially, our costs have also gone up with inflation and with expanded staffing and programs.
I’ve given the same amount for a long time - can I just give that?
For a long time, B’nai had one of the lowest dues structures of any local congregation, and we need to catch ourselves up. The 2025 Annual Gifts of the Heart suggested levels reflect the actual revenue we need to make our wonderful community sustainable. If you have not raised your gift in a while, we ask you to bump up your giving just as our costs have gone up.
How do I see what I gave in 2024?
There are two ways to view your 2024 gift. You can call or email the B’nai office (see below) or you can check for yourself through our website. To check on your own, go to www.bnaihavurah.org, log onto your B'nai Havurah online account, click on "My Account" in the upper right, go to the "Financial Management" heading, and find the "My Recent Transactions" button, then scroll to the bottom of the page and click on "View All Transactions." (The administrative staff can also help you get new sign-on information for ShulCloud if that is needed.)
How do I submit my pledge to B'nai Havurah? Do I have to pay 100% of my pledge today?
If you prefer, you can always contact the office directly by phone to set up payment. Or, simply go to bnaihavurah.org and log on to your ShulCloud account. Under the Membership tab, click on Annual Gifts of the Heart 2025 from the drop-down menu. The renewal form will automatically populate with information in our database. Please update as needed.
Next, select a payment option that works best for you. If possible, please use one of our automated payment processes (ACH or credit card) which eliminates the need to remember to make payments.
If you are paying by card, please consider clicking the option to cover the credit card fees which add up to a significant amount in our budget.
*Automated payments MUST be renewed each year so please double-check that all requested information is provided.
How do I get help with the website or payment options?
