B'nai Hikers and Walkers:  April Outing

Outing Type: In-Town Walk

When: Sunday, April 6, 10am-noon
Directions and Parking: See below.
Difficulty: Easy
Length: Variable
Co-Leaders: Susan Spero and Nancy McCahill

Susan says:

At 10am, let’s meet in front of the now-closed Chez Artiste Theater at 2800 S. Colorado Blvd and Amherst.  [Same shopping center as Sprouts & Walgreens.  Just south of the main part of University Hills that has Starbucks, King Soopers, Ulta, & Pet Smart.]

I recommend we leave some cars there [lots of open parking] and carpool with as many people in each car as possible, because parking is very limited at the trailhead.  That way, we’ll have fewer cars to park.  Could be crowded on a Sunday AM.

Directions:  from 2800 S. Colorado Blvd, go 1.7 mi. south [left] to where Colorado ends.  Go east [left] on Quincy 0.4 mi. to Dahlia.  Go south [right] for 1150 feet to the trailhead.  If there are no parking spaces there, back track half-way to Blackmeer Rd. and park on that residential street.  If you want to GPS it, put in Arapahoe Tennis Club, 4450 S. Dahlia.  The trailhead is just past the club on the right.

Description: It’s a beautiful, wide, flat, dirt trail.  On one side are wide, open meadows, some ponds, and views of the Front Range.  On the other side are amazing[ly huge, pricy] houses.  You can walk out and back as far as you want.  I’d suggest an hour round trip if you’re up for it.  There are a few benches here and there.

Warning: I didn’t see any porta-potties on the trail, so hydrate accordingly!
